A Warm Heart (Stopping the Keyhole Draught)

A quick and easy one today. We have two locks on our front door, a yale lock and a conventional one. Now we lost the only key for the non-yale lock not long after we moved in so all the keyhole is doing is letting in a breeze.

Pretty isn’t it?

I am going to cover this with a small patch to keep the draught (draft) out. I have decided to use a heart-shaped one for kitchness.

First I cut out a heart from paper to draw round. I folded a piece of paper in half and drew one half with the middle to the fold and cut through the two layers, this meant it would be symmetrical.

Then I drew round it onto the wrong-side of some fablon (sticky-backed plastic). Mine is of the chintzy 1970s floral variety. Not to everyone’s taste, but it makes me smile!

Then just peel off the back…

And stick in place!
