Guarding My Money (mending my purse)

Just a quick one today. A section of my purse split due to me overfilling it with old metro tickets, I really like my purse and didn’t really want to have to buy a new one but I was running the risk of losing my bank card.

I tucked in the frayed edge and used Copydex to glue along the seam. Copydex is my favourite glue at the moment and is perfect for leather and fabrics. I used to hate it because of the smell but I think they must have changed the recipe because it stinks a lot less than I remember.

I used a small piece of soldier ribbon to reinforce the section that had been split. I glued it along the top of the pocket and sewed it into the leather at either end (the outside of my purse is leather and the inside, it turns out, was just pretending). This should give me another few years out of my purse and now I have soldiers guarding my cards. Double safe!
